Nominated for the California Association of Teachers of English (CATE) Award of Merit. CATE’s Award of Merit recognizes outstanding contributions of persons and organizations, outside of the teaching profession, toward the improvement of teaching English Language Arts in California. Irene was nominated by the Greater San Diego Council of Teachers of English for “all you have done and continue to do in sharing your enthusiasm for writing, photography, and creativity with young people.” The award recipient will be announced at the CATE Conference Award Luncheon on Friday, February 8th.
